Amalija Update -January 2008

We love our family.....Alan, Michelle, Brynn, Jolee, AND Amalija.

Amalija completed her first semester at George Fox with great grades and is now enjoying this semester even more.  It's much easier for her now that she knows what's expected of her and has relaxed into the Fox culture.

She's recently completed applications for over 10 scholarships and is often sending out emails to her friends and family worldwide in hopes of collecting more financial support for the coming 3 years.

College is really expensive and there are days where I just can't imagine we'll be able to fundraise enough to get her to graduation. Her job working on campus in food service, just isn't gonna cut it!  Since she's a foreign student, it's our understanding that she can't apply for loans or work off campus at what might be a higher paying position.

I'm constantly caught in the battle of letting things go-and letting God lead the way and my own desire to know that everything will work out so that she'll be able to continue at Fox.  Amalija says, "Don't worry, I could waste my time worrying, but what good would that do."  Her faith in God, and her ability to let Him truly be the leader of her life amazes me.  Not only does Amalija make fantastic coffee-but she's also a very wise woman!

LOVE the coffee!

Yeah, I gotta ditto on the yummy coffee! But Michelle is no longer allowed to have caffeinated coffee at 10PM. Watching her bounce around and beg to play Yahtzee or Sequence or anything fun at 10:45 as I'm trying to get to bed is ... while funny, also rather obnoxious. :)
